Hi there, thanks for dropping by. My name is Penny Weber, and I am the founder of the shapes united, which includes our sister brand, recovawear.

The journey to this point today has been an interesting one. I guess you could say that the cliché of make lemonade out of lemons somehow applies. Quite some time ago, I was fortunate to survive a reasonably significant road accident. With my broken body, I was sent to a rehab centre in my hospital gown and told that I needed to go into the rehab rooms by the end of the week. Seriously hilarious, as there was a slight wind blowing through the gap in my gown every time I had to move.

As fate would have it, a dear friend came to visit. Chatting away, a nurse came into the room to do ops. She lifted the sheet, took the gown with it, and I had my very own wardrobe malfunction… and very awkward conversation.

I spent the night thinking through things and working out some solutions with all of this in mind. Then, finally, arriving at what are now the first testing prototypes of recovawear. Finally, after several additional surgeries, these prototypes made their way into my regular wardrobe, providing me with the ability to go out and do the things I wanted to do… and feel good about myself.

We then did some testing with people in a rehabilitation hospital and gave the products a decent tweak to connect with people's highest needs and wants.

Even though the products came out of a particular window in my life, I have spent many hours, days, weeks working on ways to help friends, family and customers with their challenges. One that struck me was a lady who had chest surgery and who didn't leave the house for months because she had nothing to wear.. or a gentleman who hasn't been able to find pants to fit over and not catch on his prosthetic leg.

These people are the reason why we shifted to being called The Shapes United. A sustainable fashion brand with inclusive sizing, adaptive or sensory features and minor adjustments to amplify these wondrous people and give them the tools to enjoy their lives to the fullest.

Everyone has a 'thing', waist, leg length, arm length.. sometimes standard sizing works, and sometimes it doesn't. We are sustainably produced so that helping one person doesn't harm a village. The Shapes United is here to work through connecting a need into something desirable and genuinely delightful to wear.

I have learned to appreciate my scars and appreciate what they represent to the changes in my life. I hope to help you, your loved one, your work colleagues, or your business connect with the world and reduce their daily pain.

We are all different shapes and sizes with unique needs and wants.

We all have our own physical story to tell.

Standard sizing suits us sometimes, but not others.

Sometimes we are a size bigger, sometimes a size smaller.

Sometimes we only buy a particular style, because we know if it suits us… or needs a specific neckline, no tags or no seams.

Sometimes this is for a specific reason… and sometimes it is just because we don’t like it.

Either way, all shapes deserve to be heard. Sometimes we are small shapes and sometimes larger.
We, as people, are often more than one shape.
We are all shapes of differing sizes; tall, petite, large, small.
We change over time.
We are here to create clothing for all shapes, sizes, needs, and abilities.
